A Bit Belated

So I spent last night hanging out with the gang from Rare Books & Manuscripts which means this is a few hours late. Close enough for government work.

Yesterday was 9/9/09. Flip it upside down and you get 666. I'm sure this is somehow significant.

Also, when I was reading through this old book, I found a printed marginal note (not something a reader later added, but actually printed into the book) that read "Beware the Cat."

The strangeness of this was further compounded by 1) there being no reference to cats in the text and 2) Chatham (the guy whose house we were at) has a slightly nippy cat.

Research accomplished yesterday:

1) Got to see, firsthand, the effects of ink eating away paper

2) Started in on Stowe's Survey of London, just because UIUC has six trillion copies of it.
